MQX Quilt Festivals are conducted with a focus on machine quilters. For the last five years, the class offerings have been broadened to include more educational opportunities in piecing, embroidery, business, art, and design. Each show offers a wide variety of quilts on display, vendors, classes and events.

We offer personalized service and consider each student an honored guest. It is our mission to create an environment to learn from the best instructors in the quilting industry, meet fellow quilters, and keep everyone current on the latest products and techniques in the quilt world.

Welcome to the MQX Experience!

Has MQX Gone to the Birds? Well, Maybe!

  December 2, 2017

The Year of the Birds!

We hope you all had a relaxing, happy Thanksgiving.

We're noticing a 'bird' theme to a number of the classes offered at MQX New England this spring. We're not sure how that happened but these birds sure are really pretty and oh so fun.

Let's see.......

Kathy McNeil has a majestic, appliqued Great Blue Heron.
Unfortunately, this one is sold out but Kathy has several more classes!
Lynne Tyler's birds are fun and flexible. Personalize them to suit people in your life, long legs or short, big or small beaks, bold or plain.
Kathy McNeil has owls too! How cute are they? Appliqué the Easy Way is a wonderful class to learn how to appliqué in a fun, relaxing environment.
Jenny Pedigo & Helen Robinson of Sew Kind of Wonderful fame have this adorable Mod Owls class. Bring some fun patterned fabrics (polka dots maybe???) to class to bring these modern owls to life.
Jenny Pedigo & Helen Robinson of Sew Kind of Wonderful also has FLAMINGOS!
Bethanne Nemesh has a cool couching class to give texture to birds (or any other item that might need texture)

Why would I go to MQX, I don't machine quilt!  When we speak to folks at shows or in our travels, people may have heard about the show but say, "Oh, MQX is a machine quilting show and I don't machine quilt." We always offer many other possible things to learn and enjoy. How about........

Die Cutting or Electric Quilt with Candace West

Fusible Appliqué with Sue Bleiweiss

Fabric Dyeing with Cindy Lohbeck

Art & Stitch Design Software with Linda Gosselin

Yarn Couching with Bethanne Nemesh

Cork Journal with Sue Pelland

Turned Edge Appliqué with David Taylor

Mini Diva Wallet with Jessica VenDenburgh

Serging with Susan Zellers

......... and more than 75 Machine Quilting classes with many new and veteran MQX faculty members

Button, Button, whose got the Button?

MQX provides a small banner for faculty to post on their blog, website, and social media to let people know they will be teaching at the show. Since registration opened two weeks ago, several students have asked for an "I am attending MQX" button to let their customers know they are furthering their education. Snag the image here and it's yours! Not able to snag it? Contact us and we'll send it to you.
