Welcome to the MQX Quilt FestivalsTM Blog!

MQX Quilt FestivalsTM - New England, Midwest and Pacific Northwest

New England - Manchester, New Hampshire (April 11-14, 2018)
Midwest - Springfield, Illinois (September 27-30, 2017)

MQX Quilt Festivals are conducted with a focus on machine quilters. For the last five years, the class offerings have been broadened to include more educational opportunities in piecing, embroidery, business, art, and design. Each show offers a wide variety of quilts on display, vendors, classes and events.

We offer personalized service and consider each student an honored guest. It is our mission to create an environment to learn from the best instructors in the quilting industry, meet fellow quilters, and keep everyone current on the latest products and techniques in the quilt world.

Welcome to the MQX Experience!

Inside TipAre you allergic to ironing quilt backs? For those that machine quilt, lay a wrinkled backing across your frame and spritz with water in a spray bottle. Spray a bit extra on set in creases, then go wind bobbins, cut or unpackage batting, thread the machine, and about 15 minutes later, you'll have a smooth backing that's ready to load.

Note from JL: yeah, I know I shared this tip a couple years ago but it bears repeating. Mary and I haven't ironed backings for 15 years!
