About MQX Quilt Festivals

How did MQX get started?

MQX Quilt Festivals (Machine Quilters Exposition, LLC) is an annual quilt show and conference founded by machine quilters, Janet-Lee Santeusanio and Mary Schilke.

What began as a get-together for longarm quilters in New England, rapidly morphed into the largest convention of this type in the United States. Well-known for its friendliness, attention to detail, top educators, and dedication to their students, vendors and faculty, certainly had humble beginnings.

After seeing several women invest in large quilting machines, then sell them due to the solitary nature of a home based business, a get together idea was born. On April 15, 2000, Janet-Lee organized a group of quilters to hang out, eat, chat, eat some more, and share their machine quilting experiences in her home. Forty women showed up and it is there that Mary and Janet-Lee met. It was a fortuitous meeting as they have been best friends and business partners since that day.

Living and working over 150 miles apart from one another didn't stop these two as they have created the largest and most anticipated machine quilting conventions in the United States.

MQX Quilt Festival - New England takes place each April in Manchester, New Hampshire (April 5-8,2017)

MQX Quilt Festival - Midwest is typically located in Springfield, Illinois in the fall (September 27-30, 2017).

MQX Quilt Festival - West is not currently on the schedule. We are looking at new venues.

Stay tuned for new developments these two women have up their sleeves. Whatever it is, it's sure to be well done and fun!

December 2, 2017
The Year of the Birds!  We hope you all had a relaxing, happy Thanksgiving.  We're noticing a 'bird' theme to a number of the classes offered at MQX New England this spring. We're not sure how that happened but these birds sure are really pretty and oh so ...

MQX Quilt FestivalsTM  is owned and operated by Machine Quilters Exposition which is a privately held Limited Liability Corporation
MQX Quilt Festivals in New England, and the Midwest are not affiliated with, associated with,
or supported by
any other quilting related organization in any of the regions listed.
