We're Counting Down the Days........

It's almost show time again!  Our return to Manchester has generated much buzz and cheers of delight from vendors, students and everyone we've spoken to in recent months.

In this newsletter we will cover a number of items so let's get started....

(just a quick note about this and newsletters in general..... each browser views newsletter code differently..... what looks pretty to me when I create this, doesn't necessarily translate to pretty on everyone else's browser.... much to my frustration)

Too much caffeineI snagged this image of Kim Brunner's newest qult that she will showcase in her newest class "Beginners Building Blocks for Good Design." on Thursday, April 11th  from 9 to 11, and #E214 and again on Friday, April 12th from 4-6 pm. #E366

"By combining the principles of design, some elbow grease, careful planning and just a bit of courage, students can create quilts to knock your socks off!"  Kim has been teaching for us since 2005 and is known for her ability to break things down into easily achievable baby steps.  Yeah, you want this class!

Faculty: John Kubiniec for Learning from the Past

John Kubiniec has added a cool hands on class (one student per machine head for the maximum hands on experience). Class #E178 on Wednesday, April 10th from 1 to 5 pm.  So what DO you do with all those rulers that you had to have but now don't know how to apply to your day-to-day quilting?  Let John show you how to maximize them.

Don't forget the Rock the Block event!

Rock the Block

Rock the Block
is our new Friday evening event! This won't be your typical banquet meal; there will be a variety of foods served with an Oriental flair.

This event is a benefit for the "No Soldier Forgotten" and Quilts of Valor charities.

Sponsors are donating various amounts of $$ per block. The more blocks, the more $$ collected.
Donate blocks at the MQX Quilt Festival office in booth 107 or 108 in the Expo Center.

How many blocks will you be bringing with you?

Click here for links to the block patterns and colorway guidelines.

Joanne Shapp is our special guest speaker. She will be discussing her adventures in her lecture entitled, "Crop Circle Quilts: From Fields to Fabric."

Register for # E903 - $40 (MQX Quilt Festival will donate $5 to the charity), Friday, April 12th 7:30-9:30 pm.

LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION!

Just today we heard that New Hampshire Chronicle, the region's nightly news magazine program about the people and places that make New Hampshire special, will be filming for the day on Thursday, April 11. They will film five locations throughout the MQX Quilt Festival.... be on the lookout for the film crew and they just might end up filming YOU!
