 MQX FASHION EXTRAVAGANZA
MQX would like to welcome new Fashion Extravaganza and Garment Competition Coordinator, Kathie Beltz. Kathie has worked with MQX for several years and is a garment creator herself. Enter the competition and join Kathie for an evening of elegance and laughter. With so many exciting ideas for quilted clothing, now is the time to put your ideas to fabric and submit your quilted garment entry. Be part of the excitement and model your own garment and Accessory Challenge. The evening is fun and relaxing…no high pressure. Please volunteer to model and assist on the Volunteer Form. If we can’t convince you to model, we will find a model to show off your creation. Have you seen Cathy Franks on the MQX runway? Not only is she a comedienne, but she also is an award winning garment creator. Cathy’s handiwork will be showcased as she models the garments that have made her a Fashion Extravaganza favorite. Her garments run the gamut from understated elegance to blatantly outlandish! Add that to her winning personality, and this segment this segment of the evening is sure to be a treat.
If the evening wasn’t already a recipe for enjoyment, we welcome our dear friend Mark Lipinski as guest presenter. Yes, you read that right…Cathy Franks and Mark Lipinski sharing the same stage! Mark is a talented writer, humorist, and quilter who was the creative force behind Quilter’s Home Magazine. Mark’s flat out honest, raucous sense of humor is the cherry on the sundae; the frosting on the cake! Remember, the 2010 competition garments are not on the show floor until Friday, April 16th. Awards are presented in all garment competition categories at the conclusion of the Fashion Extravaganza. In keeping with the humor theme, Mark and Cathy will award their personal favorite competition garment or accessory challenge with a special ribbon and prize.
