Quilt and Garment Appraisals at MQX East 2011
Whether you ship your quilt to shows all over the country or if it is hanging in the perfect place in your home, it is wise to have your quilt valued should anything happen. Insurance and shipping companies are not inclined to pay for, what they perceive is, a bunch of fabric and thread that makes a pretty design. Neither has an appreciation for the artistry and skill it takes to make and quilt a quilt or garment. Once again, Vivien Sayre will join us to provide quilt and garment appraisals. Vivien is a well known appraiser in New England for her expertise, especially in dating antique fabrics. She has years of appraisal experience and we are thrilled to have her on-site for three days; Thursday April 14th from 10-3, Friday April 15th from 10-3 and Saturday April 16th from 10-2.
If you would like to have your quilt/garment appraised, please fill out 2011 Appraisal Form and have it accompany your entry when you ship it to MQX. The fees are listed at the bottom of the Appraisal Form. If you have already shipped your quilt to MQX, please fax the form to 510-740-3570. No need for a header page as it comes directly the main computer in the MQX corporate offices.
If you are planning to attend MQX and you have a quilt or garment you would like to have appraised (other than a MQX entry), you may bring it with you and have Vivien appraise it in Booths #1004 on the show floor. Appointments are required so please e-mail me at MQXShow@comcast.net with “Appraisal Appointment” in the subject line. In the message, please indicate the day and time you’d like to see Vivien. Please bring the completed Appraisal Form with you. Entrants in the MQX competition or special exhibits should submit their appraisal forms WITH their entry or make arrangements with me ahead of time.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me MQXShow@comcast.net
