MQX 2010 Accessory Challenge
The fashion shows on TV often say, “accessorize, accessorize, accessorize.”
We have pretty much ignored accessories in the past so let’s have some fun with them now! What is your ultimate machine quilted accessory? Is it a wallet, purse, backpack, briefcase, tote bag, hat, headband, book cover, umbrella or scarf? How about virtually any accessory you can think of that is NOT considered clothing? Use your imagination and creativity for this challenge. Remember, it must be machine quilted.
Oh, wait! There is just one little, ittybitty catch—entrants must incorporate at least one button from button creator, Bonnie Scott of Joyful Adornments. Bonnie’s website (www.joyfuladornments.com) has an extensive inventory of unique glass buttons in a variety of sizes and colors. Design your accessory, add one of Bonnie’s buttons and submit your entry.
As sponsor of this challenge category, Bonnie has contributed prize money for the top three winners and to top it off, Bonnie will issue each entrant in this category a gift certificate (for use in her MQX booth or on her website), the equivalent amount of the price of the button(s) used in the entry.
Entry deadline is February 15, 2010. The entry fee is $15 if submitted online. Entrants may also use the paper form in the Class & Event Catalog on page 15. However, to continue with MQX’s campaign to reduce paper consumption, the fee for a paper entry is $18.
Need assistance in choosing the perfect button for your entry? Computer monitor colors can be quite different from reality. Contact Bonnie at bonnie@joyfuladornments.com for help in deciding.
