The 4th of July is the Official Kickoff to Summer!
School's out, vacations are planned, and a trip to the beach or lake is a welcome relief from the heat. We're heated up too..... working hard on the upcoming MQX Midwest.
Many of us that got into machine quilting as a business were tired of working for others, wanted work-time flexibility, independence, and to explore our own creativity. We learned our skills from phenomenally talented quilt artists like Linda Taylor, Marcia Stevens, and so many more. Where will you learn your skills?
MQX Quilt Festivals are the last machine-quilting focused conventions in the country! A sign of the changing times.... our industry magazine closed their doors as have all the other machine quilting shows in the last few years. We're not going anywhere! MQX is going strong and here to stay. Why not join us? Hang out with us and like-minded quilters.... take a class or two, maybe an evening event (we do have a lot of fun).
MQX Faculty Spotlight
Here's some of our amazing quilt artists that will make their debut appearance at MQX Midwest.
Clem Buzick is a former hairdresser whose client asked her if she wanted to take a quilting class. Yeah, the rest is history........ a longarmer now for the last ten years, she has made her mark on the quilting world. Her wall is stacked with awards and her teaching approach is fun and encouraging. After a hugely successful teaching debut at MQX New England, we wanted to make sure our Midwest students had a chance to learn from Clem. She is offering nine classes......... lecture, lecture/demo, and hand-on. Tough to choose, huh?

Kathy McNeil is a master at taking scraps of fabric and turning them into quilts that look more like paintings than quilts. As an international award winner, her quilts have been featured in shows all over the world, museums, magazines, and calendars. Also making her MQX debut at the April show in New Hampshire, Kathy led our Thursday Quilter's Fun Night. What a fun time! Her design classes are unmatched.
