Appraisals - New England 2018
Whether you ship your quilt to shows all over the country or simply hanging in the perfect place in your home, it is wise to have your quilt valued should anything happen. Insurance and shipping companies are not inclined to pay for, what they perceive is, fabric and thread sewn together to make a design. Neither has an appreciation for the artistry and skill it takes to make and quilt a quilt or garment.
Once again, Vivien Sayre, Certified quilt appraiser will join us to provide quilt and garment appraisals. Vivien is well known for her expertise, especially in dating antique fabrics. She has many years of appraisal experience and will be on-site for three days:
Thursday, April 12th from 10–4
Friday, April 13th from 10–4
Saturday, April 14th from 10–2
If you are an entrant in the New England and would like to have your entry appraised an Appraisal Form will accompany your acceptance letter. Please fill it out and have it accompany your entry when you ship or bring it to the show. Fees are listed at the bottom of the Appraisal Form. If you have already shipped your quilt, scan and e-mail the form (link below).
If you are planning to attend the show and you have a quilt or garment to be appraised, please print out this copy of the Appraisal Form, complete it, and bring it with you in preparation for your meeting with Vivien.
Appraisal appointments with Vivien are required. Please e-mail with “Appraisal Appointment” in the subject line. In the message, please indicate the day and time of our choice.
